Our Honorable President Zuma declared many times in Parliament that he is not responsible for paying back any money in respect of Nkandla, his homestead to which government made improvements to the value of approximately R250 million.
The DA argued that this was not correct. That the President was enriching himself unfairly at the cost of the poor in the country. They asked the Public Protector to investigate the case.
The Public Protector found that the President indeed did enrich himself unfairly!
Then followed years of the President fighting about this in Parliament. He disagreed with the Public protector. He got minister upon minster to re investigate and goodness knows what.
Eventually the DA took him to court.
A full bench of the Constitutional court hears the case and President Zuma throws a major rock at everybody by suddenly changing his song! Suddenly he pleads guilty and says yes he must pay! WOW what a direction change that was!
Everybody was caught off guard!
On 31 March 2016 Judge Mogoeng gave the unanimous judgment of the full bench of the constitutional court. To my utter horror all those judges unanimously decided the DA is correct,
1 President Zuma must comply to the remedial action proposed by the Public protector (in other words he was guilty of unfairly enriching himself and must personally pay back the money!)
2 but he is also in breach of his oath of office!
You can read the shocking full judgment against President Zuma by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng here:
This shocked me to my foundation!
MY Honorable President is GUILTY!
So you will have to forgive me, from that day on I am no longer able to call him honorable. Because he is not. He is in breach of his oath of office that he swore in front of all of us! Not only that, he enriched himself and had to pay back the money. A. Shocking testament to anybody, leave alone a President. So forgive me, from that day on he is #guilty #Zuma because a full bench of the Constitutional court said so.
